Caller Name ID was an interesting project. It illustrated that most people at the time didn't understand that your mobile phone doesn't have Caller ID. Since a mobile phone contains an address book internally, most customers are used to seeing names show up on the incoming call screen, it wasn't immediately clear what Caller Name ID would offer customers. Even AT&T execs didn't realize that caller id function wasn't baked into the phone.
The developer wanted input on how to make it fit into AT&T's services. We simplified the UI, and tweaked the flow a bit. Made sure the graphics didn't seem too much like banner ads, and had the default graphics fit into the Android schema.
