IPME stands for Internet Protocol Messaging. Using the success of iMessage as the baseline desirable experience, AT&T wanted to create a messaging system that utilized the data network to provide a richer experience for users. Instead of it being its own app like: What's App, Kakao Talk, GroupMe, etc. The richer messaging experience would be "baked" into the phone. This would enable a much more natural experience for users, plus additional functionality like: istyping, delivery notification, larger files, and range of other filetypes. Additionally they wouldn't have to create an account as it would be tied to a customers mobile phone number.

iMessage was definitely and influence and my role was to represent the different states a conversation could have with IPME: 1. Both parties are IP messages connected. 2. One person in the conversation is back on the MMS and TXT messaging network, because they are out of range. 3. Two members in a group are in the IP Network, but one is not. 4. IS typing. The variations can go on and on.
