Try and Stop Me III
Once again I did the DASS Supersauce process using Sara again for Try & Stop Me. This time I painted the surface with a gold metallic stain, plus i coated the underside of the surface with wax. The thought there, was to maybe stop air transfer from under the artboard frame. Didn’t work. I also stepped back from using DASS consistently. Next post!
Tons of pics!
Gold stained mounted board.
A key learning about painting the encaustic board with paint. It seems to make the wax harder to stick. If I do continue to use it: light touch.
I hoped to prevent air coming up through the board when I was fusing. Didn’t really work
Some up close iridescent gold encaustic paint.
Tweaked Sara’s image by using Halftone dots. That way I was sure the gold background could come through.
Second dass transfer layer
Here you can see where heat impacted the transfer film, causing it to ripple. It can be delicate at times.
Additional DASS transfer layer.
