LAST DRIVE of 2025

A Mostly good end to the driving year

I'm heading home from Chico. I drove this back in June and lost some footage, so I figured this would be a good opportunity to re-grab the footage. Plus, I had a new camera, so another angle in the capture arsenal. Head North East on 36 from Red Blue until you see Lanes Valley RD. Then head north until connecting with Wildcat RD, then make the wrong turn to the right on Ash Creek RD before turning left at Dersch RD and heading west back into Redding. It's a solid 3 star drive, repeatable and enjoyable. Lots of variations with rises, turns, climbs, sprints. The roads are of mixed quality, from rough to newish and smooth. It's a working road so you might run into large trucks and other working folks.

Bonus! I did try an experiment that was fairly successful. I want to refine it on my future drives. I placed one of my cameras facing out and set it as a time-lapse image capture. Here you can see the results:

Alright that’s it for 2025! I’m hoping for more roads and captures in 2026.

see you out there!
